Another course update

Dear Spring Run Member,

Please be aware that Monday morning, March 17th, the Driving Range will be unavailable until 10 AM due to an early morning application. From noon until 2 PM, we will also be holding a Golf Club Sale on the range. Stop by for some green beer, terrific deals, and a chance to win pro shop credit!

Please also note that we will slowly begin trenching in out of play areas near the lake banks to install silt fencing for erosion control. This process is mandated by the EPA, Florida Dept of Environmental Protection, and Lee County, and will remain in place until the course reopens. They will be initially working along #4, 5, 6 and 7, which are the holes that construction will begin on, due to their proximity to the Maintenance Building. The new irrigation controls will be based at the Maintenance Building, so that is where they need to start.

Please note if you were not already aware: The course will close after play Sunday evening, March 30. Construction will begin Monday morning, March 31. All practice facilities will close immediately as well, as they need to be rebuilt and require ample time to grown back in. Our priority will be to get these practice areas open sooner than the course is. The key will be the ability for Golf staff to retrieve the golf balls in the aqua range. With newly planted grass, they will be unable to access the lake banks until early fall, but once they can get to the balls, we will reopen the range.

I want to thank all of the members for their cooperation and understanding of the early closures and any inconveniences. Our goal is to provide our membership with a wonderfully enhanced golfing experience, brought in at budget, and delivered on time. Barring natural disasters, we should hit our targets. It means a lot when everyone allows us to do what is necessary, no matter how disappointing, in order to get the job done right for you. Thank you again.

If you have comments or questions about this or any other topic, please reply back.

Mike
